Differences Between Terracotta Saltillo Tiles

Traditional Smooth Saltillo Tile

The Traditional Saltillo Tile has a slight pillow top effect on the surface, and also varies in size and color. Each piece will have a unique combination of red, gold, and amber hues.

Antique/Distressed Saltillo

Similar to the Traditional Saltillo, the Distressed Saltillo has a pillow top surface and variations in size & color. However, the surface of Distressed Saltillo has an antique lived-in look with more character. Distressing in the form of mild scratches, scuffs, and irregularities appear on the clay body. These surface features help with slip resistance in wet-floor areas.

Super Saltillo

Includes similar features to the Traditional Saltillo, such as color variation and mild size variation. However, The Super Saltillo is pressed inside a mold unlike the Traditional Saltillo which is hand formed in wooden molds. This makes the Super Saltillo significantly denser and flatter than the rest of the Saltillo tiles. The edges and corners of the Super are also significantly rounded.

D’hanis Saltillo

The most refined Saltillo tile by far. Unlike the Super, the D’hanis tile offers minimal rounded edges and corners. D'hanis also offers pre-selected reds with mild terracotta red variation and no gold or amber. A mild durable finish is produced by coating them in an oil-based seal.

Red Select Saltillo

Red Select Saltillo tiles are available in only red variations. Perfect for those who prefer terracotta red and minimal to no gold and yellow.

Brick Paver Saltillo

Distinguished by their sandy and coarse texture, these bricks are made from the same terracotta as Saltillo tiles. Available in two thicknesses: 2 inch and ¾ inch.
